We welcome you to immerse yourself in the magic of Lapland and to learn about the Arctic! This is an active retreat, where adventure and tradition come together, offering something for all ages. Step outside your door to explore the pristine snow-covered landscape with our guided hikes, snowshoeing, and skiing. Savor traditional meals and homemade Christmas delicacies, then unwind in the warmth of the sauna and hot tub while admiring the Polar Night colors and Northern Lights.
Santa Claus will be visiting us—his reindeer are parked right outside the lodge! While adults can venture on longer hikes, Santa’s helpers host festive activities for children. Our team hosting you is 100% local from Finland.

This retreat is perfect for you if you love the outdoors and wilderness experiences, enjoy spending time with an outdoor-loving community, like to learn new skills and embrace the unexpected, appreciate authentic accommodations and value tradition over modernity. ACTIVITIES
Lots of snow fun expected! Snowshoeing, back-country skiing, sleigh rides, Christmas and New Year activities both in and outdoors, meeting Santa Claus and his reindeer, Northern Lights spotting and starry night hikes. A traditional wood-burn sauna and a hot tub in the snow is heated up every night! We will be celebrating Christmas and New Year in Arctic style! You can also book additional activities from husky to snowmobile rides and downhill skiing. No prior experience in winter sports or Arctic skills is required.
ACCOMMODATION
Peurakaltio features a main lodge with 6 rooms and 25 beds, a café and restaurant building, 2 sauna buildings, a hot tub, and toilet huts. Rooms are kept warm with wood-burning fireplaces and heaters. For an extra special experience, you can opt to stay in luxury accommodation, such as a glass igloo, for your final night.

This is an all-inclusive stay, which means that your accommodation, meals, guided hikes and activities, equipment and saunas are included and you can focus in enjoying your holiday and exploring the Arctic around you!
